...Without clearing my throat first.
Burping makes it worse. So does water and excercise. I can't take my mind off it because my body forces me to try and breath if I do. I can always bring up mucus, but it just clogs my throat again seconds later, faster if I try using Gavisvon Advance. I'm seriously worried about collapsing here; why is my LPR flaring up as other symptoms disappear?!

Hi Daxter,

It seems to me from what you describe, it might be that mucous is gathering at your vocal chords and clogging it up. Because of that, it's keeping you from being able to breathe properly.

There's a condition called VCD--Vocal Chord Dysfunction, that causes the vocal chords to spasm/close, and keeps air from moving through properly. With VCD you learn breathing/relaxation techniques to allow proper breathing.

I don't think that's what you're dealing with, but I mention it to point out that your vocal chords can impede breathing.

Would it be the vocal chords if I can still speak/sing properly? I keep googling about mucus pooling on the chords, and most people say they become hoarse etc, but I don't. :p

What sucks is that until now I was fighting a bad spell of nausea and bowel issues. Now that they've gone, this is the latest problem. Surely LPR can't just drop symptoms just like that?

Hi Daxter,

VCD can be an issue without a bit of hoarseness. Mucous gathering at the vocal chords would cause hoarseness only when it's sitting there, but the hoarseness could be gone immediately upon clearing the mucous away.

I have alot of mucus in my throat too. Mine is brought on by talking, drinking or eating. It happens immediately. My chest also feels tight which makes me feel like i cant breathe. I wish i had answers. Doctors dont seem to know much about us.

Excess mucus might be causing this, but there can be other reasons. Get checked
