I am a 64 year old female. I am overweight, but I do watch what I eat and go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I have used 20 mg omeprozal for 10 years. It does a pretty good job of controlling the pain, but after an endoscopy they found many polyps. (Some believe there is a correlation between the longtime use of med. with polyps). One of the polyps did have mild dysphasia. I had a second endoscopy to remove the 19 polyps. They were all benign. I do have burping most of the time, hoarseness, sinus problems and flatulence. My question is since the omeprazole manages my pain most of the time, is the surgery worth it to fix the other symptoms. I have had three major abdominal surgeries so they can't do laparoscopic surgery that way. They suggested going in through the chest, but said they won't know until they get in there whether they can get through or not. I appreciate your experiences and thoughtful considerations regarding my specific situation.
P.s. My sensor score was 48. I haven't heard the results of my swallow test yet, but do notice some recent trouble swallowing.
