Post-op burping...or something

I'm about six weeks out post-op from NF.

The last week or so something weird has been happening. It's like a combination of a burp, a hiccup, and an esophageal spasm all rolled into one. I can feel pressure, like I have to burp, then I don't do a full burp...but like, I think air is coming up? It's really hard to describe. Nothing is coming up with it, like acid, but after I drink liquid sometimes it almost feels kind of foamy.

See, really hard to describe. I know GERD sufferers tend to be air swallowers, so maybe I'm swallowing a lot of air and now because I'm not in pain from the heartburn...I'm noticing it now? It did not happen right after surgery.

Any clues as to what could be happening? What is this thing that I'm experiencing...any ideas?

All three of those in one? Esophageal spasms are enough by themselves. Anytime I hiccup, a burp immediately follows and apparently my wrap is all good. It's tight, but good.

When I could get spasms, I'd just try and wait it out no matter how bad it hurt. I was prescribed like nitrous tablets which are normally given to heart patients and I just didn't want to go that route.

I haven't thought much about swallowing a lot of air. Try and avoid straws with your beverages if you aren't already.

You're only six weeks out. We all heal differently. The amount of work done to our guts is just crazy and we don't really realize it. Your body is just getting accustomed to things I would say. Lots of times gas gets trapped and that's really hurtful. My first day after surgery I had some really bad pain in my collarbone and something tells me that time I broke it had nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure what an esophageal spasm feels like. I get the hiccups and burps. Painful hiccups initially but now mainly after I eat but only a few. I get burps every time I eat or drink. Also get them when really gassy. I get combos of hiccups with burps too. I hiccup and the burp goes along with it. It is more common the last couple weeks too. I burp a lot. I'm 7.5 weeks out. Maybe you can describe the spasm to me.

I've had sharp chest pain that leaves quick. Rapid heart rate but that's not new. Thinking I don't get those. Yeah! Sounds horrible though.

Sometimes the spasms are quick, sometimes they're not. You hope for quick. lol
