Hey guys, thought people might find this interesting: I went into the orthopedic yesterday to see about an issue with my feet that's been plaguing me since my last half marathon (turns out it's been fractured for nine months now, whoops) and she made note of the fact that I had hypermobility in my joints/ligaments etc... It was very visible in the x-rays of my feet, and it's not great for any sport except for maybe yoga. Anyway, if anyone else out there has hypermobility in joints, hands, knees, feet, etc... you should hear what she told me: researchers are just now starting to make the connection between these external manifestations AND other manifestations in the soft tissue inside the body-- notably, the GI tract. The studies like this one:

show a ridiculously high correlation between hypermobility patients and GERD/esophageal motility (and in another article, even IBS). Seems to make sense to me!
