9.5 ph water side effects?

I have been drinking high ph water ( essentia) for about a year. I am finding that it causes very dry mouth. Or it's dehydrating me. It has taken a while for me to see the connection.
I switched to ph 8 and no longer feel the dry tongue after drinking the water.
Anyone else find tihis to be true? I was drinking a 9.5 and try water that is 9 to 10 ph.

Hello Teacherman-- looking at the added Ingredients of Essentia made me wonder-- the higher the pH the more sodium bicarbonate thus drier mouth due to more sodium. What are your thoughts on this. We purchased Alkazone pH drops-- you can control the pH with them and carry them in pocket or purse. Also got A2O pH drop tester solution-- about $5--- we tested our drinking water, essentia, even our saliva. It helped prove that the Alkazone drops worked and the bottled water was accurate and was what we paid for. Also testing saliva early in the morning showed acid and after drinking coffee was acid. I know the doctors won't accept it but sure has been helpful in determine acidity of things. The A2O easier to use then buying pH tester device that needs to be calibrated.

Hi Pat, I dont know the answer. I sure like alkalized water but the side effect of extreme dry mouth is very real from my experience. maybe i am the first to see this? Its a pretty new fad right now. also, i believe being on ppis contributed to this? but i really dont know. i just know when i drink the supr high ph it doesnt take long for me to get the extreme dry tongue. However, i didnt get the dry tongue til almost a year after drinking it. I am very warry of high ph water now. interestingly, the SIDES of my tongue got dryer than the middle. my sides wre like sand paper. i took me a while to make the connection. for those of you who around here a lot please observe if you see others post similar side effects. Maybe its just me?
