Getting an endoscopy is a step in the right direction, I'm waiting for one myself and it's torcher when you're worried about what's going on. I'm not a medical professional but it's doubtful that you have stomach cancer or esophageal cancer, you're describing the same symptoms that I have myself right now, and I've had them for two months straight, so I understand your fear and anxiety, I have it to at times.
It sounds as though your gerd is chronic like mine and that you need to be on medication more then just once in awhile. Sometimes gerd is sneaky and you don't always feel the heart burn or damage that the stomach acid does until that pressure sensation is there, and it's always felt more so after you've eaten, in my case even a small meal causes me tremendous pressure, I also have that "lump in the throat" feeling as well. As many people will tell you here, anxiety makes everything you feel a lot worse.
If you read posts here, you'll find a lot of people share your symptoms and worries, and it seems to be an on going struggle to get these debilitating symptoms under control, but you're not alone and you'll be okay. It's great that you've stopped smoking and usually after a year of being smoke free you're lungs and body will be in a much better state. Try to relax and work with your doctor on a plan to try and get your gerd under control, and I wish you luck.
