What's the reason you have soar tongue with GERD? is it getting better when you feel a soar tongue or is it getting worse?

Lately i have getting a soar tongue that comes and go and i get the feeling the GERD is getting milder when the tongue starts to soar, it soars because it heals?

By the way i get seldon gastritis anymore, it can burn sometimes but very rare, this must means i am getting better slowly right?

However i am very tender at the left behind the rib in my back when i move upper body and it gets worse and better depending on acid condition.

A sore and burning tongue are sympotms of acid reflux and if your tongue is becoming more sore that would not indicate that you are getting better IMHO.

If you have reflux that definitely reaches your mouth then your tongue may be sore, obviously, as a result of being bathed in acid. However, if you never get reflux that comes up that far then the sore tongue can be due to other things - you should, in particular, get tested for anaemia. A sore tongue can be related to iron deficiency anaemia, B12 deficiency or deficiency of other B vitamins.

If it's any comfort, I had sore tongue earlier this year - it lasted a couple of months, during which I did my best to take iron and B vitamins (but my gastritis has very poor tolerance to such things....) and it did clear up without too much effort. I already know I'm anaemic - whilst originally it was thought that was due to GERD, current medical opinion now is that it's due to the ppi :-/

My tongue has been almost unbearable for days now. I have doubled up on meds for reflux . Garbled with bank g soda, Drank baking soda. At wits end. I am anemic but have been a long time. HELP!!!!

I use Corsodyl mouth wash - have to use it daily to keep the sore tongue away (it's mostly caused by asthma inhalers). I would see a pharmacist for a medicated mouthwash - mine usually clears up after a couple of days of properly using the mouthwash and being careful not to eat or drink anything too hot. I don't know if it's a GERD thing or not, but my tongue is much more easily sore than it used to be and I have to be careful. Sometimes I don't notice my tongue is sore and start thinking certain teeth have rough edges and that I need the dentist - then I treat my tongue and realise my teeth are fine!!
