We almost have the same story... Years ago I started feeling bloated and uncomfortable after eating, but I didn't do anything about it, until One night I cough so hard, made me sick and go to the doctor. I've had xray and sputum tests which came out normal, and my doctor thinks it's gerd, though til now I dont have any tests for it.
I have read lots of posts here which suggests healthy lifestyle and supplements, and I tried them with PATIENCE, as they said it would take time to heal.
• My shoulder and back pain has reduced its intensity and frequency by 80%
• cough / throat clearing reduced by 50%
• bloating is not that frequent
• i havent had a sore throat for 2 months now
• anxiety is controllable
•shortness of breath is gone
•burping seems normal now
And more!
I also had a BAD BAD BAD anxiety after my cough incident. I used to google symptoms, and think about them 24/7! It affected my happy life!
The only symptoms that I frequently have is the cough/throat clearing. The other symptoms doesnt bother me that much anymore, and I, too have the same question: if this is still GERD.
What I think worked for me:
•Eating healthy, avoiding trigger foods and drinking lots of water
•Breathing exercises
•Relaxing or muscle relaxation
•Going out and trying to enjoy myself
•Exercising!!!!!!
•Talking my anxiety with a very UNDERSTANDING person/council
•Magnesium and vit d3 supplement
•Strepsils
I have observed that when I eat a chocolate or tomato based food, I feel sick and feel tightness in my chest--which made me conclude I really had Gerd issues. You too should observe yourself with every food you take, everything you do, might as well keep a journal so that you could track everything.
It's been almost 3 months, and I know many people here had suffered from GERD way too long than me. That's why I am still trying to wait and observe. I'm 26 female and I want my normal life back.
