So it's been about two years since the surgery? I'm doing great. Lifting weights, getting big. The problem is that my stomach is also getting bigger.
Can I do sit-ups this long after the surgery?
My one rule is that I have no food, or no drink (not even a sip of water) in my stomach before exercising. That seems to be serving me well.
Would I be fine to do sit-ups? I really want to get my abs back into really good shape.
Hope all is well with everybody! This forum saved my sanity both before and after the surgery!!!
Hey Dave, it was great reading your post. I was a monster before my surgery, now 7 months later I have the build of a long distance runner.
I haven't done any situps. I'm having good core results with pilates, but the instructor is a bit of a ninja and seems to be able to select exercises that stay away from the operation point at the top of my abs.
How did you find other weight lifting exercises please? I tried gentle weights 3 months post op but anything that put pressure on my chest caused me a lot of discomfort.
All the best,
LD.
