Failed Fundoplication

I had a fundoplication done in 2010 which has now become stretch and is not functioning as well as it should. I have been back on the antacid med for over two years and am now at the point where they are no longer providing enough relief against the reflux.

I have been through all the tests and my consultant has offered a redo of the fundoplication, but has stressed that is does also carry a number of risks. As such, he has also suggested that it might be worth looking at a couple of other procedures that are lower risk. They are Stretta therapy or an Endostim device

The consultant wasn't too sure if Stretta would be that effective, but said the Endostim device has shown very good results. These both appear to be quite new procedures, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of these and if they managed to get them covered under BUPA insurance (UK).

I have been doing a bit of searching around the site and it sounds like these options may not be ideal for me as they both look like they take a while before they are fully effective. As my reflux is quite bad and is badly effecting my asthma, I think I might be better off going for a redo as this will provide the quickes relief.

My fundo only failed as I picked up a stomach bug and was violently sick a number of times. Hopefully by the time it needs to be done again, a number of these new procedures will be more developed and may be a viable option.
