Had Fundo redo yesterday.......issues

I had a 360 fundo redo yesterday, and when my doctor went in he found a massive hiatal hernia along with a lot of scar tissue from my original fundo on my liver. Needless to say I'm in a crap load of pain today.....plus for some reason my tounge is numb? I have hypoglycemia which has been really bad over the past 2 years and wondering if the scar tissue on my liver may have been causing it?

So far I'm on a soft diet and doing ok with jello, pudding and applesauce and have to stay on this diet for 2 weeks, before progressing to mashed potatoes and such. So far that seems normal, but wondering if others had such bad scar tissue, my entire abdomen is swollen and sore, with bruising over my liver area where he removed all the scar tissue from. Any one else ever have this issue on a redo?

Well I have had my share of scar tissue issues, but can't say for sure if any was on my liver. I do know that my lap redo was more painful than my original, but my open wasn't any more painful than my 1st redo. I think with the redo since they have to do a lot more work we are going to have more pain and swelling. Don't be in a rush to go home if you can stay and have the pain control at the hospital.

As for your tongue, I suspect that could be from the anesthesia. I had some tongue issues like swelling and some numbness with mine, but my redoes were over 4 hours surgeries too.

Be careful with mashed taters they can pile up very easily on you at the wrap.
