Surgery on Dec 2

I seem to have narrowed down some of the problem, some of which I had before the fundoplication.

My stomach seems to be always full of fluid, and gas. Now being off the ppi's I am getting painful cramping and constant gurgling and gas - when the gas starts it seems to shoot reflux up. My stomach is like a washing machine.

I sat yesterday for most of the day with a hot water bottle on my stomach and the reflux lessened by at least 80%

This leads me to think I'm certainly having digestive issues and if I can get them calmed down, then the reflux may calm down too

Good to hear you had a slightly easier day yesterday pink. Them blinkin ppis definitely upset your stomach I can vouch for that. Have you tried probiotics? I found them really really useful when I came off ppi. Really helped with the gas and gurgling. I use bioglan and open the capsule and sprinkle into a spoonful of yoghurt. I think also the change in diet upsets your stomach too. Hope you are feeling ok today.

Yeah I realised that I don't actually reflux acid it's more alkaline/bile. So ppi did zilch for me really other than give me chronic stomach ache and even more gas. I know they definitely are good for the majority of people with "traditional" reflux but they really just did not work for me, different strokes for different folks!

I'm sorry to say the fundoplication has failed.
Had the op on the Tuesday and still had reflux after it was done, had severe stomach spasms for two days, by the Saturday everything loosened up, could burp again and liquid going through easily, by Sunday the hernia was back.
Due to see the surgeon on Thursday for a follow up, do this should be interesting - am royally fed up and I still am on a liquid diet but now with normal reflux:(

I don't know what to say except that I'm really sorry. I hope the matter can be resolved soon, goodness knows you've suffered long enough..!

Unfortunately still have reflux but it is most definitely related to lower digestive issues - I have been diagnosed with chronic SIBO and IBS, they reckon the huge doses of PPIS that I was on, have obliterated any good bacteria.

Am due to start new antibiotics on the 29th and undergoing further treatment in the New year for the gas and bloating, cramps and spasms.

I have noted, no gas - no reflux, so fingers crossed I get it sorted out soon.
