Dear hariscar,
If your diet isn't working, maybe you should look into it further. What you're eating and self treating with would send me to the hospital because of food and chemical intolerances.
#1 I would suspect is the DGL. Licorice has sulfites, which are a trigger for my reflux reaction.
Then I would eliminate onions and garlic, and tomato sauce containing them. Make your own. I have no problem with tomatoes or any of the other "bland diet" foods.
You have to look at the ingredients in your tea. Some are preserved with sulfites. You could have an intolerance to the honey too, if you have certain allergies to the pollens the bees gathered. It's just another type of sugar anyway. And avoid ALL the sugar substitutes, They ALL have dextrose as a filler - another food contaminated with sulfite.
Only the manufacturer knows what they've put in the other "natural" supplements you are taking. They often have undeclared preservatives.
I'd get on real food, no processed stuff. Add one food at a time. Rice and lamb are supposed to be safe for most people. Cook for yourself, no eating out. Carry your own lunch if you have to.
I'd forget worrying about
fats.
Keep a "food journal" faithfully (see many posts in the search box at the top of the page), with time, with you eat and drink, supplements (none for now), medicines which you've looked up to see what's in them, and then any reactions, particularly within 2 hours.
My allergist "cured" my reflux by having me keep a food journal and finding out my food triggers. I only get into trouble when I don't read ingredients or cheat, like yesterday's English muffin with apricot preserves. Oh, nausea!
PS: The esophagus and stomach are sensitive organs. They react to my ingestion of sulfites and trigger my reflux and other reactions. Your doctor is probably right. Look at the irritants you're subjecting these organs to and stop eating them.
