The surgeon is very reluctant but there isn't really any other route in my situation, I don't actually have GERD, I have something called rumination syndrome, it was controlled after the initial surgery for a short while but I believe the wrap broke, my rumination syndrome got a lot worse to the point where I can now no longer keep any food or drink down (I'm fed by a feeding tube), so the only option for me is to have the surgery again, its not something I would do unless I had to, my surgeon has said its very risky and theres quite a high chance of it going wrong because of scar tissue from the previous surgery. Its also not a proven or commonly used treatment for rumination making it even more complicated!
All of my test results before my first surgery and after have been normal, except for the manometry, although I'm not sure what it did show.
I hope you find some relief soon, I think the best bet is to try and show your surgeon how it is effecting your life.
