Welcome to the forum.
It depends on the doctor and where the tests are done. I went to a very busy practice, specifically to see one of the top surgeons, in a major university hospital where it took me a month just to get my first appointment.
It took me 4 months total, from my accident which pushed my stomach into my chest, to finally getting my surgery. There was generally at least a couple of weeks between each test. For some tests you have to be off acid reducers, at least the PPIs, for a week or more. For one test, Bravo capsule, I had to be off for 10 days.
And after getting all the tests there is no assurance you'll get surgery. Some places only take the worst patients, some might take just about anybody. Watch out for the latter. Learn enough to find out if this is the best thing for you.
I went to the group that my gastroenterologist recommended as having the best outcomes in the area. It was taking so long to get everything done I asked my gastro if I should go somewhere else. He said NO! Go to the best.
