Esophagael Spasms after reflux surgery?

I've recently (less than a week ago) had a paraesophagael hernia repair with the reflux wrap, etc...  I'm able to swallow ok--have been the whole time.  But today, it seems like my esophagus is going into very painful spasms when I eat.  Maybe I'm eating too much too soon?  Has anyone else experienced this?  What can I do about it?

I had similar surgery March 3rd and experienced symptoms that might have been esophageal spasms. Seemed like spasms followed by chest pain. This happened after eating and I experienced for several weeks and they have now subsided. Eating small portions, very slow, etc.. helped. Although even with small portions of liquids or very soft foods they would happen early on.

Thanks for the response.  I guess I've been trying to eat some things that I probably shouldn't.  That is what seems to cause the spasms.
