Hi all
Just wanted to know what type of pain do you experience with the acid rebound after stopping ppi? do you experience burning in the stomach? just looking for people to describe the type of pain and where they feel it?
I just had a second endoscopy done and it would seem i don't have gastritis just like the first endoscopy suggested 3 months ago, all clear for every thing . But the problem is that last time i tried to stop ppi after the all clear for gastritis after the 1st endoscopy, i ended up with severe burning pain in the stomach and i mean severe, it was shooting acid up my osophagus and also had pain there too. But i had burning pain in a upside down V shape in the stomach starting from the middle of breast bone down in a upside down V shape. I went back on ppi that evening and that was the beginning of 3 months of hell of what felt pike mega gastritis x 100, i could eat nothing, out of breath and so on. The doctors are adamant its visceral hypersensitivity caused by the acid rebound frying my nerves.
So i was wondering what kind of pain do you experience, specially in the stomach like burning pain.
If i knew PPI would leave me like this, i would of never started them in the first place, would of dealt with gastritis just like others did couple of centres ago, or worst case carafate and ranitadine. PPI are wrong in my opinion, try your best to deal with it in other ways first and use these as past resort. Really evil stuff, now stopping them is 100x more painful and harder than the steroid induced gastritis i took them for initially. Doctors are too gun ho with medications, specially GP's who have no experience with the side effects, they casually told me to drop them and there should be no problems lolz.
What a ordeal, doctors give me unnecessary steroids and antibiotics, that gives me gastritis, then they give me PPi that caused a problem much worser than gastritis, visceral hypersensitivity, now they want me on antidepressants pain killers to treat that. Anybody see a patterns here, they fix one thing to 2nd up breaking something else. Go to fix my lungs, break my stomach. The quality of doctors have severely dropped in this modern age.
thanks all
