I have been struggling with LPR for 2 years now. I have been on Dexilant high dose for the majority of that time with okay (not great) results. I am just starting to look into procedures to help correct this. My GI doc has basically said he only recommends Nissan as a surgical option, but from my investigation that is a pretty aggressive procedure with a long recovery and multiple side effects.
The Stretta procedure sounds like a great alternative option, but I like many of you have seen mixed feedback online. It isn't easy to find physicians that perform the procedure in my area (closest is a 3+ hour drive). I am looking for some help from anyone that has experience with the procedure as to what the criteria is to be a candidate to get this done? What testing I will have to go through in advance? What questions I should ask when selecting a surgeon to do the procedure? I have actually had some email exchange with Mederi (company that make the Stretta device), but they have directed me to one of the doctors on their website.
Any help would be great. This looks so promising but yet the information is so scattered.
