Crap is right, now the two insurance agency waiting to get or find the right code for the insurance.
Maybe they will find the code by Christmas, maybe i should ask Santa Clause for a new stomach.
I swear no one understands the pain until you have this problem don't get upset i understand is all I got from the insurance people on the phone today. Really they won't talk to me that's what the doctors office if for, she never called back.
I swear years ago people called you back, they had respect for the customers not anymore.
I feel like I'm number 5 million now serving 5. This people are just pushing papers, if it isn't or concern them there is no urgency.
I would double check to make your surgery is good to go so you don't end up the way I did nowhere.
I need to research 3 world countries maybe someone will help me and not treat me like a number.
Hope you are doing ok you no how I'm doing crappy.
I will let you know but nothing today, maybe they will call next week maybe by christmas.
Really this is a sad day, now i know how the VA people feel. Take a number maybe will help you before you die. Sad sad day what this country as come to all about the might dollar, not about the weal being of the human life. Here today maybe gone tomorrow.

I called the local news where i live they have some one who investigates problems if you can't get them solved so I left a message. May be he can clear the red tape. My friends told me to be the squeeky wheel they always listen to you. God give me strength I so tired of the crap just to get authorized. It took me 14 years to find my 3 surgeon. I really feel sorry if you need something different. You better not get sick no one cares we need to fix the system.

I feel just awful for you! Please forgive my memory if we've already covered this. Are you in the U.S? What type of insurance do you have? Definitely be the 'squeeky wheel' as you will eventually find someone to help you.

Be as nice and kind as possible even if you want to wring someone's neck, because they are used to people yelling at them, and if you are the sweetest you can be, perhaps that will get you much further. I've tried it in various situations and it works.

I have another more urgent manner, I just popped a 3+ white blood count infection but they say I'ts not a UTI. Friday I wen to urgent care because my doctors were booked. I now have to find where what the infection and cure it so even if I did get my Nissan surgery schdled I now have to wait for the infection to clear. I live in Salt lake City, Utah. I just send another letter to Surgeon #3 asking for Help since my last ER Visit in april, May 6 to my obgyn and again May 15 to urgent Care I've got everyone stumped. I hope he can point me in the right direction since the hospital is a teaching one. Maybe I can be a patient, and they can finally find the infection that make me sleep on the time. I'm a CNA so by tomorrow may 18 I will be all over them if not I will be back to the ER. I don't want this infection to go any further than it has. My Nissan days for surgery took a side bump. I don't understand how I could have gotten like this 3 different people. I really feel sorry for other who are worse than I am. I finally went back to work now thinking it's a mistake I'll i want to do is go to sleep. If I keep going like this at 4pm I will have my sister come get me at back to the ER. Hoep you are doing ok, getting sick sucks! I will keep in touch with what the find. You can call me Sleepy not Sunshine.

I wish I COULD sleep! I'm so sorry for your increased problems! It's not FAIR and I really feel for you! I am not doing too good, either. I'm so sick after meals; can't sleep because of the reflux, and just counting the weeks before I can have my LNF surgery on July 7th!

I've gotten into increased exercise and I'm sure that has irritated the hernia so I feel really sick. I'm trying to get in shape for surgery for the best outcome possible, but it sure isn't easy when you feel so sick. I know you know exactly what I mean.

You are in my prayers for ANSWERS to your health issues. Please keep bugging anyone in a position to help.

My problem is the infection that I hope doesn't go to my blood. I pray to go that they catch is soon.
I don't want to get a staph infection, or I'm in bigger problems.
Like my mother always said don't get old and don't get sick.
I left another round of messages for all the people I hope can help, oh well if not I will go back to the ER today. Keep smiling things have to get better for the both and the rest of us but really can't anyone get a break from crap. Talk to you later

Good morning, It's been a very long week, got kick off the horse again with the surgeon for gastric bypass. The last two weeks never tuned in an authorization to the insurance co. I met with another surgeon Friday, I am very confident that he can put the Nissan back in place so I don't have to have gastric bypass. I have a swallow test this Tuesday to see how far the Acid is getting in my throat.
Yes he even put in a authorization for surgery the day before I arrived. Remember if there is a will there is a way.
Again when life keeps throwing you lemons people make lemonade. Never let your doctors intimidate you saying because of all your scar tissue no surgeon will ever help. That's when you find you another GI doctor.
Over the last few years when did the prodical change and the GI doctors say they and the Surgeon have to agree that surgery will benefit you.
I hope you have a nice weekend I will let you know I know it will be good news when they schdle date for surgery. Keep smiling Linda Sue If I can keep doing this you and everyone don't give up.
Today I kick up my eating of stuff to cause the acid in my throat, so now #4 will be the final surgery to a nightmare gone bad. Yeh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

It's good to get a positive update from you! I'm so glad you kept pushing as that is what it takes and so many of us have lost so much time 'trusting' the wrong doctors. Are you getting these final tests while OFF acid controllers? I'm glad you found the RIGHT surgeon. I was wondering how gastric bypass was going to help you.

Best of luck on your Tuesday test and let us know how things turn out. Also, when you are scheduled for surgery!

Yes I'm off the acid blocker, having a lot of chest pain, my spasms are terrible having a hard time with my breathing again.
I'm super excited that after Tuesday this surgeon doesn't mess around with schdle dates that I know this is the final chapter for success and quality of life I have been searching for 14 years.
I will keep you posted I know that he will schdle this soon, maybe Thursday or Friday after the holiday.
I wish only the best for the other still struggling with issues of the doctors, GI, and even surgeons please don't ever give up stand strong til you know you feel better.
Keep up the good work Linda Sue your happiness is right around the corner. I turn 50 on July 6 not sure what I will be able to eat at that time I will raise my glass of something in you honer hoping for a speedy recovery for you, and the other to come after us.

Hey, Sunshine with Mixed Clouds - I keyed in on your mention of difficulty with self-pay for your surgical needs. Have you heard of the site www.gofundme.com? (spelling?) Lots of people in financial straits use this concept to raise money for this need or that; you should check it out while your interminable waiting continues. Basically strangers, family, friends and some small grant programs all donate money to a person's funding needs, and some people have raised substantial amounts of money this way. It's not charity; it's just people helping other people.

If you DO start a fund for yourself, be sure and post it here. I would be happy to participate, and I would bet others here would love to help, too.

I feel so sad that you are suffering. I hope you will find relief soon.

you are so sweet i can't believe that there are so many with this problem. We live in America, lots of good doctors but the Insurance co only see us as a piece of paper.

I keep joking with my friend and family that if I go to a third world country I would get better care!

Maybe when i get feeling better we all need to stand together and change the Insurance company and all the issues that go along with it.

I'm very hopeful this week is the new beginning, I do have Insurance thanks to President Obama. I have used it many time over the last 2 years.
It was nice to chat with you, I'm afraid to ask to do have issues with acid reflux. and doctor problems.
I will let you know after my test on Tuesday, thanks for the kind words and idea.

Hey, SunnyBunny! Glad you are looking forward to your week!

I waited an awful long time to find out what was wrong with my stomach; I felt I wouldn't be able to pay for my medical care until I hit 65. My insurance was for 'catastrophic need' only. Sure glad I didn't have emergency surgery for my hernia. My Surgeon said there was a good chance I would have died with an open procedure. Ouch!

I went to Gastro-Guy with pain after EVERY meal. Had Double Header Scoping. Lower fine, upper revealed Giant Hernia. He said it 'didn't look that bad.' A lot of time went by, then referral to Thoracic Surgeon. By the time I had surgery, all my stomach was up in my chest, and up behind and above my heart. Its a wonder I could eat AT ALL. My main problem by that time was constant dizzyness and considerable fatigue. Very dangerous to my every-day life.

I suffered with GERD off and on for many years, although I didn't know what it was.... I'd get control for a while and then get careless with food and drink and it would start all over again. Probably at least 20 years. During this time I had Shingles, and just totally lost control of eating and hooch. I just felt awful and nothing seemed to help. Couldn't sleep etc. That lasted about 8 months. By then I had gained a bunch of weight from eating. So the GERD was really bad during that time. The last 5 or 6 years it would come and go; I could pretty much control it, using Omeprazole (my husband's prescription) and OTC's. I have not had any acid problems since my surgery. But Doc said eat whatever you want, and I have been. Darn! I've put on 8 pounds since my lowest weight after the surgery in early March. So now I have about 25 pounds I want to lose. That's hard if I eat 5 or 6 times a day, as recommended.

Yes I've had some DR. problems. Gastro-Guy didn't take my condition seriously (he needs to retire!) and I told him what my Surgeon said about possible death. He apologized, but it was hard to get his attention to the point that I could deliver the message. My GP has me seeing a FNP, and he's useless as 'Tits on a Bore' by my judgement. Haven't even met my GP and it's been over a year. But I am a squeaky wheel and allergic to bullsh**, and my husband advocates for me when necessary too.

I am hoping that my surgery was done in such a way that no more work will have to be done on my esophogus. And my stomach has been returned to it's correct body postion. I am now sporting 7 incisions and don't want any more surgeries, Thank You Very Much! This is the beginning of Week 12 for me, and I think things are going well. No more hiccups, only back pain, (corresponds to area of cautery and considerable patching and lots of stitches), some constipation, energy improving, sleeping well, daily nap if I'm home. Incisions continuing to heal and getting softer underneath. Oh, and a cheerful outlook on my part helps me too. So I'd say Life has improved dramatically for me since March of this year.

I'm so sorry to hear the crap you went thru too, I'm glad that you have an advocate to help guide you through this mess.

I have an amazing sister that understands everything, Now I'm starting to wonder what went wrong with surgery number 3. I've had 2 ER visits and an urgent visit last week though I was going to give birth to my kidney. The way you describe the fatigue, sleeping and other systems you describe the way i feel.
I just pray to God that after my test the surgeon calls and we can have surgery this week. I'm trying not to go back to the ER because last week they said no kidney or bladder problems. All I know from the last surgery make sure no to lift anything heavy or you run the risk of doing this all over again.

I changed my profession now do security, and some CNA work, way to young to retire. I hope you have all the success and better health with lots of good quality of life. Thanks again for all you kind thoughts and prayer I will keep praying for everyone. Life is so precious.

I know in the next life it's got to be a lot easier with no pain or suffering, but enough is enough.

Hi, Everyone

I'm changing my name to Dorthy I finally got my wish the new surgeon will do surgery either this thurs, Mon or the latest Thursday of next. I call him Dr. Oz he said he is going to take the whole think apart and put me back together.

Thankyou for all your support he said most of the problems or symptoms will be going away.

Surgery is set for June 8 yeah, long time wish to have the surgery fixed the right way. As soon as i'm able I will let you know how surgery went.

I plan on taking at least 3 weeks if not more to recovery depending on which way he can fix my Nissan.
Thanks again to everyone, remember never give up stand your ground with the doctors who don't believe because we only get one chance in this life. We need to make the best of what we get. Sunshine, June 8! Wonderful! You'll probably need all of the 3 weeks for recovery based on what I've read about others on these forums who've had the surgery. By the way, I've moved my surgery UP to June 23rd! Just a little more than 3 weeks away. Can't wait to get it behind me.

I will be praying for a smooth surgery for you and be watching for your postings!

Hi, Everyone Surgery was a success. Yeah. Very tired sore. Oz did a wonderful job able to put dorthy stomach back together.

Thank you all for for love and support. I will post and answer from time to time. I going to relax and sleep for awhile. I doing ok, I have post op numbness in both hands, they say it should go away, but I can't complain I have two compression gloves to help.
