Voice Loss due to GERD?

I got diagnosed with gastritis about a year ago, & did everything in my power to heal for about a month. I got better, but then like a fool I drank myself silly in the summer, (I know it was stupid) & lost my voice very abruptly after a few days of drinking. It was horrible, I could barely speak.

Now however, my speaking voice is back but there are still certain sounds that don't come out when I try to make them, in the higher register. Also, I used to sing really well, but now I can't sing half of what I used to & the stuff I can still sing now sounds mediocre & not quite what it used to be. It just doesn't sound the same, & I know it. I also find I have shortness of breath that I hadn't had before.

I know this is due to the constant reflux going up my esophagus, this has been causing me some serious grief, I was wondering if anyone here had incurred the same problem & if they ever ended up healing their voices completely? I know theres a slim chance of that happening, but if theres even a glimmer of hope that I could restore my voice back to what it used to be I'd do anything to make that happen.

Any tips? Or even if you've had the same problem with no success, I'd like to hear your experience.

Yeah, that's what I mean! The higher registers, & certain notes just don't come out at all, completely silent. Even when I laugh or say something in a high voice, & you can probably see how that translates when it comes to singing. I can only sing like very straight on and dodging any nuanced type of note... basically I sound mediocre as hell now, if not just plain bad.

I've been on PPIs for months, however I don't always treat my body that well, I found it really hard to quit absolutely everything at once & stick to a bland diet when I believed that I'd never get my voice back regardless.

I had an endoscopy done, months ago. At that point there was no permanent damage done yet, he said there was irritation. I'm just concerned that my reflux will never stop long enough for me to gain my voice back in its entirety. Any tips...?
