I'm so dismayed about this because it seems that the vast majority of people experience instant relief. I haven't had any relief, not even a day. I have had days when I've convinced myself I'm getting better or improving, but I suspect it's psychological and random fluctuations more than anything. Long-term the trend continues to be - I have reflux and it's going nowhere.
My symptoms.
Hoarseness which varies moment to moment from quite bad to very bad always resulting in difficulty speaking.
Burning pain in throat all day
Stickiness in throat and mouth in the mornings
Bitter taste in mouth in the mornings
Burning pain at various heights from solar plexus to upper chest. Pain is more serious if I'm not taking PPIS (currently I'm taking 2 x 20 mg omeprazol a day. As per pre-Linx it appears to do nothing other than lessen my chest pain, my LPR is unaffected completely).
Occasional hiccuping sensations or sensations of reflux from the stomach, often followed by burning in the chest or throat. (before linx I used to belch and get this daily, I don't belch any more.
I get the standard linx dysphagia, but it's very mild. I hardly even think about it. I've only had two instances when food got seriously stuck and I had to force it down with water.
I'm extremely disheartened. My consultant has assured me that it's early days and that healing varies from person to person, but I have struggled to find a single person with a "recovery" which matches mine. People sometimes have some chest pain, but it's different, lots of people get dysphagia problems, but I don't really have that. Most people who have success with this device seem to get reflux relief right from the start...
