Here are a few tips to help you sleep, with GERD.
Eat your dinner at least 4 hours before you go to bed. In that way, your stomach will be empty and less acidic when you sleep.
If you have reflux at bedtime, try taking a tablet of antacid or H2 blocker such as Zantac which is available OTC before you sleep. Both antacid and H2 blocker are fast-acting. I find H2 blocker more effective and longer lasting. PPI at bedtime won't help, as it takes a meal to activate it, and you are supposed to take it before breakfast and/or dinner.
If you wakes up in the middle of the night feeling reflux, drinks lots of water.
Try sleeping with your bed slanted, or with a wedge pillow, and make sure your feet have support so that you won't slide down during your sleep. If you have more difficult GERD, try sleeping upright, sitting with your head forward, one ear resting on a pillow, or like this:
