To Nissan or maybe something else?

I suffered from bulimia for about 9 years. Not proud but it was from high school sports never had symptoms of reflux or anything. I decided to change my life and stop. Well a month after I couldn't swallow, I was constantly clearing my throat and fatigue was high. I decided to have an endoscopy (first one in 2010 was clean) my new endoscopy showed a HH and esphogus ulcer. My GI doctor decided to try and start me on PPI but kinda warned me about the long term risk and said a diet had to happen as well. I decided to not start on a PPI. I've been on this diet a month now and it had its ups and a lot of downs (water gave me heartburn) I'm 26 and have a kid on the way and raising a 5 yr old id suffer from extreme health/fear of cancer anxiety and the stress probably isn't helping. So my question is with the symptoms still being present after this extreme diet. Do you think I should ask my GI dr to look into surgery. I have an appointment with an ENT in a week and half to look into LPR. Just wanna know what some opinions may be. Is the nissen worth it? The hiatal hernia and ulcer are side by side and the pain in my stomach sometimes is unreal. The diet has been unreal too I've went from 215 to 205 in 5 weeks.

You really ought to follow your doctor's advice. Try the PPI! It will allow your ulcer to heal. Diet alone won't.

Don't worry about the hernia. Most people do have them when they get older. The only concern is if they are really large and cause symptoms. The ulcer is most likely causing all the pain.

It's too early to be considering surgery. That's the LAST resort.

Please do what your doctor ordered and take the medicine.

How long should I stay on the meds? My GI doctor scoped me and due to my wedding and honey moon I won't have my follow up appointment for another weekl with him.
