It sounds like your doctor was a lot more thorough than mine, I guess that's what one should expect from Johns Hopkins. Mine did not do a scope or a barium swallow following the surgery. I have only just recently been given the option for the barium swallow because I've seen almost no improvement after four weeks. when you feel a little bit uncomfortable with bulky food passing through linx it's not an extremely strong or clear perceivable feeling but it's a vague soreness/tenderness in the area of the linx right?
