I want to see if elevation will help stop me from aspirating during the night but I need a way to try it out first before investing in anything permanent. If it does work I think the most viable option for me is going to be getting a wedge for the bed because our bed couldn't be put up on blocks
The problem is that we are very short on cash at the moment so I don't want to invest in a wedge (cheapest I can get here in NZ is $90) unless I know its going to help so does anyone have suggestions of a temporary solution? I know that simply stacking up pillows wont work because it will compress my stomach.

edit: nevermind didn't read the part about
how you can't elevate your bed. My suggestion was books, bricks, or pieces of wood but yeah nm.

Yeah I did think about
that but the way our bedframe is wouldnt work. Plus my fiance doesn't need to be elevated as well, hence just using a wedge

Do you have a recliner that you can adjust and sleep on? When I spend the night at friends houses I sometimes will either sleep on their recliner or I will put some wide wooden blocks underneath one side of their couch so I can sleep elevated on their couch. I go for 7 to 9 inches. The wooden blocks should be wide just in case your move the couch in your sleep (I learned this one the hard way).
Something to try of a couple of nights to see if it helps.

When i sleptaway from home and needed a wedge I would use cushions and pillows. Try taking the big cushions from your sofa and making it into a wedgeto prop yourself up in bed.

No we don't have a recliner, that's a good idea though.
I didn't even think about
couch pillows, that one I can definitely do. Thanks

Hi There!
I had to elevate my metal bedframe - so blocks were no good - so I used a thick plank of wood we had in our garage. It really helped - and being a wide plank didn't cause any problems. I have since had a fundoplication and don't need to do this anymore.
