Is there any link between GERD and eczema? I have predominantly "silent" reflux, if you can call a hacking cough and constant gagging silent, but on the few occasions it gets bad enough that I feel it burning my eczema seems to flare up. Could there be a link here? Or is it more likely that I just ate something which set off both?

Not that I'm aware of, sorry. You might want to call your doctor with your concerns.

I thought i read that a side effect of a ppi could be eczema.?....

It could be, but I get it regardless of whether I am taking ppi's. I know theres a link with asthma and eczema, but I haven't had problems with asthma in years, just the respiratory probs that come with LPR. It must just be something I'm eating which just happens to flare up both the acid and the eczema. I'm not hugely bothered by it because I've had it for so long, I was more curious if anyone else had noticed it with them.

I was diagnosed with Eczema on my hands. I have had severe GERD for awhile now. It was to the point where it was waking me up 6 or 7 times a night. Well, I had my wrap done on 9/1 for GERD. I noticed this morning that my hands are almost cleared up. As you said, it could be a food or something since i am on the soft food diet still, but so far it looks like things are clearing up. I will try to remember to update once i am back on a regular diet.
