I have had gastritis off and on for years. Eventually I had bouts of esophagitis. Been to tons of gastros, had 6-7 endoscopes, several scopes by ENT's. The most recent about 10 months ago. Docs only ever found gastritis/ esophagitis and think my larynx has been irritated a few times.
For me this stuff comes and goes but when it comes it can hang around for a while. None of my docs are alarmed at all, which is good in a sense but very frustrating too.
I was wondering about this throat clearing sensation. For me this is the most stressful symptom I have I can deal with the pain most times.
I feel like I have to clear something but aside from occasional phlegm it's like a dry cough? I'm always rushing air past my throat because coughing doesn't really do anything and I sympathize with those who say it bothers family members. It's so annoying when they say " why do you do that?" As if it's for fun.
Anyway, do most LPR folks get this feeling? My ENT said its the inflammation in throat on and around vocal cords and also sometimes the reflux junk that pools around down there, which adds to the irritation. Seems to be a vicious cycle.
I'd love some feedback.
