Hello, I'm a new user and wanted to share that I got the Stretta done today, after much research. I relied on other people's posts when I made my decision so I thought I'd post about my experiences. So far, the procedure was easy. I have a sore throat, almost no voice, and a stomach ache, but otherwise, no complaints. If people are interested, I'll continue to post over the coming weeks.

Good choice Scotty. Once I get the chance that is the way I will go too. It just sounds so great, using electrical energy to regrow the sphincter....way cool!

StRETTA sounds good to me, but my GI says it does not work.
I heard that hernia have to be less than 2cm in order th get this procedure,

End of day two. Reflux is worse that it's even been. Hoping it's part of the healing process.

End of day four, post surgery. Feel fine except is hurts when I burp and my reflux is still worse than before the procedure, especially at night. And burping and hiccuping excessively... Will continue to post.

How are you doing Soctty? Can you tell us how it has been going? I really appreciate your posts of Stretta. Im planning on receiving mine on January 11th.

It's been 12 days since the procedure. At this point, i don't have any pain when i burp or hiccup. I'm eating everything, just like before. Unfortunately, my symptoms are worse in regards to REFLUX. I think that might be normal and the doc said not to expect anything until at least one month, and more likely 3 - 4 months... I will continue to keep you posted.

Day 16 - No changes yet. Eating all normal foods. Still on PPIs per instructions but GERD is perhaps the same or a little worse as of today.

Day 18. GERD still worse than before the procedure. I know it's early and hope this is just a normal part of healing.

Day 22. Unfortunately GERD is still much worse than prior to the procedure. Hoping this turns around. I will continue to post here, hoping it's helpful to others. I just emailed my doc asking if I should be alarmed.

Day 25 - Still no relief. Seems to be getting worse instead of better. Still hoping it's too early to know anything. Burping, acid feeling at base of neck, slight regurgitation. Usually, I'm fine till I eat in the morning, but today I woke up feeling the GERD. I'll continue to keep you posted.

Day 30. Still no relief. Reflux worse that prior to Stretta and now have regurgitation which I never had before. Not going off the PPIs. Started taking Carafate as well. Really disappointed so far.

Hi Scotty! I got the Stretta one year ago and got no improvements,so it failed.
Should I try a second one? What did your surgeon suggest to you?

I'm 5 weeks and 2 days post procedure. Still no improvements and still worse than prior.

Hey Martina - I'd consider a second after one year. From my research, it seems a second one can't hurt. I assume you're going to get a second one? Doesn't seem like there's any risk. Only the financial considerations, but Dr. Noar would likely know best.

I'm 6 weeks in today. Feeling pretty much the same. Still taking Carafate to help and that is helping, but when i stop, the reflux pain returns.

Hi Scotty. Can you see some improvements then? I read that a second Stretta works if you had some benefits from the first one. So I'm confused. My last Ph impedance test showed a pathological reflux, so the procedure didn't work in my case.

I believe i am in the fb group. I have not seen any improvement from the the first stretta. Where did you hear that you need to see some improvement from the first one for the second one to work?

8.5 weeks post stretta. Still no improvement and still worse than prior to procedure. Disappointed.

I just called Dr Noars office today. I was hoping to get the procedure done in May. Now I'm getting a little nervous.
I hope it works for you Scotty. I read somewhere that it takes sometime before it works. Hopefully this is the case for you.

Almost 10 weeks post stretta. Sadly, still no improvement. Also, my esophagus rumbles -- new post procedure. Also, I burp more than prior to procedure. Still trying to be hopeful.
