5 month old son going in tomorrow and have questions

I had no idea they even did the procedure on children that young. what types of problems is he having that have lead to this. Are you going to a hospital that specializes in the procedure on children? Do you trust your doctor? I only ask so many questions because I've never heard of this done on a baby. He was born premature and had bad reflux since birth. Hes hypoglycemic so him vomiting up everything didnt help. But in november he was diagnosed with gerd and since every medication has failed, we found out he is allergic to milk and around christmas also soy. Then since new years hes been really sick. Wasnt all the way himself and weak. By the end of january he was admitted weighing 8 lbs and 9 ozs(he was 8.10 at birth) so feeding tubes were placed in intestines to gain enough weight for surgery. Yesterday the surgery went great. Very fast. The only thing drs could tell me is that after he heals a lil bit is where we can go from there. Sunday they are going to try and feed him and see how that goes. And hes in quite a bit of pain. It just sucks i cry every time he does and it hurts cuz i know he hasnt got a clue why hes hurting.
