While I am new here, I understand all too well what stress can do to you. It manifests itself physically more than you realize. In my 42 years I have worried myself sick, literally, on a few occasions. Most recently when I was experiencing stomach pain, burping & the compulsion to clear my throat constantly that lasted over 2 months. It resulted in not being able to swallow food without the feeling of a lump in my throat and back (if that makes any sense). I ended up in my docs office and, later, the ER as I was convinced I was having esophageal problems or a heart attack. After tests I was diagnosed with erosive gastritis due to overuse of nsaids, which was causing the indigestion and gas. My esophagus and throat were FINE as stated by my doctors after the barium swallow and endoscopy. My compulsion to constantly swallow, clear my throat, combined with the burping and googling my symptoms (I was convinced of the worst) made me have a sore throat, leading to more anxiety, of course. Do I have a health issue? Indeed. Was it made exponentially worse for a time because of worry and Googling? YES!! Oh I so understand where you are right now. Honestly. Are you sleeping properly?? Waiting for test results is always unnerving. It might sound silly, but I use an app called "Windy" to help me relax and sleep. It plays high res recordings of wind in different environments and is very soothing, especially if you are unable to take any meds to relax. I use it at night when I go to bed. My husband is away on business a lot recently, so being alone (at night especially) worrying about my health and not having him to comfort me was/is nightmarish. The app helps. Maybe give that a whirl.
Stay positive and do your best to relax your mind and body. Again, I understand where you are completely.
