I'm sorry to hear that. I can't help you. I'm not even in the US.
46 and a half years old. BMI around 27.5 (lost 7 kgs in the last three months when these darn symptoms started).
I got scoped last May 10th. No esophagitis. Weak Cardias and a little hiatus hernia (pretty common situation) I got very few heartburn and arrythmia episodes (typical GERD symptoms).
An ENT diagnosed me LPR (sore throat, difficulty in swallowing, some spasms, some difficulty in breathing in) Underwent 2 laryngoscopies (March 8th and May 6th) and one Endoscopy (May 10th). Edema and hyperemia everywhere in my throat from the vocal cords up to the epiglottis.
I need to do a Ph-testing I guess.
The GI only gave a PPI per day. It doesn't seem enough. Dietary changes must be strictly followed anyway. Starting to follow Dr. Jamie Koufman's diet.
The sore throat and dysphagia are more under control at least for some time in the day. PPI made disappear little heartburn I felt (for only about a week).
Anyway sore throat and difficulty in swallowing start being stronger in the afternoon at about 4/5 pm until 11 pm. It's particularly stressful at work where I should speak a lot.
I use xanax as well to and relaxing yoga music therapy. In the morning I use an antidepressive (Dutch license) called Daparox.
Everything started in February 2016. Three months ago Stress had two effects. 1) made me eat crap; 2) increased acid gases in my body which went up to my throat as they weakened my cardia/LES. Remember for a gas to be harmful to the throat it only needs to be ph 5, while for the esophagus it needs to be ph 4.
I guess low/weakly acid food is a long term effective response to our problems.
Greetings from Rome, Italy.
