I was diagnosed for Gerd 2 years ago, took PPI's till I got it straightened up. This past year I went off of PPI's because I read the meds could harm your kidneys. about 4 months ago I got pains in my upper right stomache and under ribs (had gallbladder removed in 2009) they were "come and go pains" and didnt have D with it as i recal, and I sort of tried to eat better to help get it straightened up. I also get a feeling like there is an unpainful annoying band around my waist at times...it too comes and goes.
This past weekend I endulged a little (wings and beer) and the pain got constant and radiated to my back coupled with diarrhea and gurgling.
I tried getting into my GP but they were full up so I opted to go to the ER with thie scary pains. The only thing they did was take blood and probed my abdomin and there was only a slight pain. I asked about my liver and he said it was fine and blood test numbers were good. I told the attending physician that i had GERD but had been off my medication. He said thats what was wrong with me and that i needed to go back on them. Im not convinced that is what caused all the pains since the stomache is on the left side and the pain i have is mostly on the right and sometimes goes to my back. It also seems like when I sit for long times it aggravates it, maybe because everything is compact at that time(?) Then when I stand its relieved a little.
Yesterday I ate watermelon, brussel sprouts and got a lot of URQ pain and gurgling. Then drank cherry juice before i went to bed and the pain started up again in right side and woke me up. Dont know if that agitated it or not. Am eating bland this morning and so far not bad, just a twinge every now and again, nstill on right side but lower. I go to my GP tomorrow and not sure if I should ask for biopsies etc? Anyway, would like to hear your thoughts, experiences and what it sounds like to you. Also, would like to know if anyone else has these type symptoms.
