No, I'm not on any PPI's right now because they simple do not help. Therefore, there is no reason to throw down 40 dollars a month for ppis. That's why I haven't been taking them at least. My symptoms right now that I'm having is occasional stomach pain, but my main issues is hours of pain in my chest and my throat with a occasional burning in my nostrils. I just got done with the 24 hr amblutory ph study and during the day I did noticed 6 times where my ph drop below 2. This surprised me because my symptoms are typically worse at night.
I did a restech 24 hr ph probe a few months back with a local ent and I had 144 reflux episodes during the night, but they weren't very dramatic. They ranged around a ph of 5.5 all night with the largest drop to a ph of 4.9. That probe was placed right behind my tongue, so I'm excited to see the results of the probe placed in my chest.
Oh well, In a month when I have my follow up I'll find out if I'm having surgery again or not. Until then I'm just going to deal with it.
