Anyone with h.pylori?

Sorry about your h. pylori diagnosis. Everyone is different, I had to take the antibiotic combo for 2 weeks. I started to feel better in about a month. If you are still experiencing symptoms, your doctor may want to check to make sure the bacteria is completely gone.

Honestly, it's been so long that I don't remember. You should probably call your doctor's office and as them what the proper sequence is for the medication.

One question sharon, after you finished the meds are your symptoms gone?

It's been my 4th day of the triple therapy and my symptoms are the same or a little worse now. I feel my anxiety level is getting high. My doctor give me only of 1week therapy. I really need someone to talk. Can this antibiotic eradicate my h pylori. I worried that this may be something else. Any reply will be highly appreciated.

Hi Miguel, I just wanted to let you know that I am also experiencing the same bitter taste in my mouth, especially in the morning when I wake up. I was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer approx 3 weeks ago and was placed on a two week treatment of two different types of antibiotics and Peploc for the acid reflux and heartburn. I actually sleep very well. Make sure you drink lots of water. That's what I do.

Hi again essie as for you it seems it is working and no side effects for you.. They extend my antibiotic for 3days more then my doctor add multivitamins and probiotic together with the meds. My gp tell me to go back after 2weeks and do again the stool and breathe test. I hope it will be negative this time. Its very hard to take to much meds. May i aske also where you from?

Hi john today is the last day of my treatment for h pylori. I see a little improvement and hope it will continue. I still have a little discomfort in my upper mid abdomen but i can tolerate it. My appetite is coming back again but i still eat little because i dont want to push my stomach. I think i feel better now than before the treatment. I am planning to stop all medication tom including the ppi because after two weeks my gp tell me to do again the stool and breath test to confirm if the bacteria is gone. Hope you feel better. Its a slow process.

Just an update its been 3days since i finished my meds. Now i have stomach cramps 24/7. Is this normal? I dont know what to do.

Hi again just an update. I went to GI two days ago. Blood and stool test again then tom another ultrasound. Scheduled for colonscopy on oct8 because of my elevated blood results and blood in stool. The GI told me it might be ibd or crohns. Feeling scared right now

I'm hoping someone is still watching this thread. I have been going through a lot the past 10 months. Started with stomach pain, then acid reflux. Was on prilosec for quite awhile. Went to mexico twice this year. On the second trip got really sick (fever, D., etc.) . Advised by GI to take cipro and flagyl since I've had c. diff before. Stomach got better for awhile but then things kinda came back. More stomach pain, light headed, foggy, nautious, anxiety...etc. Tested positive for H. Pylori in August. Went on triple threapy with prevacid, clathiromycin, and amoxicilin. about a week after symptoms were returning...saw the GI and they ordered an endoscopy. It showed chronic gastritis but nothing else...no h pylori or cilliacs. 4 weeks after that I felt way worse, was tested for c diff and h pylori via stool tests and both were positive. They treated the c diff with flagyl and I rested 7 days after treatment which was negative...that's the good news. I still have problems though. Taking Zantac 150mg twice a day, was on buspar for anxiety but my doctor is switching me to zoloft as I'm depressed over the whole thing. I also have a prescription for xanax when the anxiet gets really bad. I've lost 30 lbs in around 8-10 months. I'm currently waiting for a breath test for H Pylori to determine if it's really gone, the GI thinks the stool test may have been a false negative. That said I'm still losing weight. It's a guessing game as to what's causing it....zantac? h pylori? gastritis? I went on a gluten free trial and wasn't eating much or consuming many calories so I'm sure that didn't help with the weight. I feel weak and have a foggy head...I wake up in the middle of the night hungry, so I'm not getting much sleep. Have tried taking ambien but that hasn't helped much with sleep. I can't stop worrying about this...I got up to go to the bathroom last night and my pulse felt really fast...checked it on my phone and it was 132 bmp! I've calmed down now since taking my buspar this morning and got a good greasy lunch in me. The only positive thing I've noticed is my somach pain isn't as bad. But I still have nausea and feel hungry a lot. I'm trying to get as many calories as I can so I don't lose more weight.

Sorry for the really long post...but any thoughts or encouragement are welcome. What have you done to keep weight on? Ive seen some people take digestive enzymes...which ones work? I know I need to get my anxiety under control...it's so hard with a heightened awareness of everything going on in my body. I need sleep as well...that's another big one. I see a new GI doctor in 3 weeks so I'm hopeful that will provide some answers...I hate waiting!
