Hi all
I had a fundoplication in 2014 but had it took down to a partial fundoplication due to gastroparesis and hypoglycaemia. I had it took down in September 2016. Im still getting fuzzy heads after food and sometimes i get really low blood sugar. I know the surgeon has damaged my vagus nerve even though he said he hasn't
I am not diabetic either
TO ALL YOU GUYS WHO AS HAD THIS OP. DOES IT EVER GET BETTER WITH TIME OR AM I MUCKED UP FOR LIFE

It does get better. Reactive hypoglycemia seems to be one of the side effects that the doctors don't discuss for fundoplication surgery. I had the same issues really bad for the first 3 months post op, but they calmed down after that. Then it trailed on occasionally for about
6 months. Anytime you mess with the stomach your system gets out of whack and this reactive hypoglycemia issue occurs. I went to UCLA to their digestive diseases clinic to get help. The doctor there, Dr Yu, had me start my day with these breakfast bars called "Extend Nutrition" that help regulate blood sugar levels for 9 hours. They have been a life saver and now it is very rare that I get any hypoglycemia issues. Good luck. Keep us posted. -JR

I get them from Amazon. There are other sites that sell them. This is the site for the bars if you want to research them:
/extendbar.com
. Good luck. Hope this helps you as it has me. -JR
