Feel bad for you...I can only imagine your fear. It appears this surgery crops up new issues all the time. I've even read post after 8 years post nissen people getting issues, but its still early on in your healing process. Im 5 months post op and can give you a laundry list of symptoms, bottom line im looking to take the nissen down. I never had a hiatal hernia but did have serve gerd, but I can live with that. This surgery is hell, yea it has saved peoples lives. The lynx is the new alternative way, but only 5 years (I think) of raw data have been published about its affects. But its less invasive. In my OP the vagus nerve is so close to the surgical sight that even after years of no symptoms scare tissue can build and put pressure on the nerve creating lots of symptoms. Im praying I get this taken down, I have two appointments this month with two different surgeons...hopefully hey will take it down. I understand the risks and know that the gerd can come back more severe but id rather live with that than this dame nissen and its potential down fall in the furture.
