I haven't had anti-reflux surgery yet, but I think your doctor should have prescribed anti nausea meds, especially since you just recently had this surgery. I would go to the emergency room to get some. Most people I know who have had this surgery keep some on hand at all times (#1: they recently had the surgery #2: when they get the stomach flu they need to take it as well so they do not damage their wrap).
Hope this helps.

+2 on what Velvet08 said. demand a script
for anti nausea, and have it available, when needed. thats the worst part of this operation, and we all have to face it, at one time or another.

as with me. when i was advanced, from a liquid diet to a soft. it was like being reborn again. herein lies the issue. it seem important, dos and donts, that a patient must know, are offered in a generic form. i ate a little to much, got sick, told myself no biggie, i will just vomit, rude awaking! at that point in time i could not. spent 6 hours in agony. so they tell us, there is a new normal we seek, and i guess pain is the best teacher. [shame] anyway good luck.

Don't go to the emergency room, call your surgeon and ask him to prescribe anti-nausea medication.

I called him yesterday for some he prescribed Zofran 10 pills for $30 my insurance doesn't cover it. So the pharmacy I go to told me call him back to get something that my insurance does cover. How sick I've been feeling with nause and vomiting/dry heaving I need more than 10 pills for $30.

Also, you should ask for a liquid med at first. Though sometimes this messes with insurance too. At least for me I was told no pills for 8 weeks. I'm crushing the one pill I am on. The pills will be good long term though when you can swallow with no problems.
If your surgeon's office is hard to reach or not responding quickly enough, your primary care doctor most likely can give you the prescript
ion for anti Nausea meds. Just make sure the 2 are talking working together.
I went to my ENT who referred me to the Surgeon when I had a question once and couldn't get to anyone in my surgeon's office due to holidays and vacations.
As for the Nausea, I had a few cases in the first few weeks were I was nauseated and took the meds preemptively. I'm at 5 weeks now, and its been a while since I've had that happen. So hopefully this improves for you too.

Thank you for your input I wasn't thinking to ask for liquid. However, he did give promethazine suppositories.
