That's why I won't let an NP touch me. Nobody could get the tube down my nose without it curling up on one side and not even going down the deviated side. A doctor finally got a pediatric endo tube down and put a wire down inside that, pulled out the endo tube out and put the little manometry tube over the wire. All this over the whole afternoon, with only a little lidocaine gel.
I didn't get the Bravo capsule that day because it got to be closing time. I had to go without PPIs for another 10 days to get the capsule. All this with a wide open lower esophageal sphincter and my stomach stuck in my chest.
At least I did get the manometry done, which was important because they were able to see that I had a "wimpy" swallow, which made a big difference in the type of wrap I got. I would not have been able to swallow past the full wrap!
