Hello everyone,

I had a lap nissen 9 weeks ago and I think it was a failure because I have been having terrible acid reflux. I have a follow up visit with my surgeon on Monday and he will do a egd shortly after to check my wrap out. I know I shouldn't be negative and jump to conclusions that my wrap failed, but I'm just trying to be realistic and prepare myself mentally for a redo. If I have to do a redo I wanted to know if anyone on here has any amazing recommendations for a surgeon In Houston that specializes in them. I think my mistake the first time around was not researching enough prior to selecting my surgeon and I just don't want to make the same mistake twice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Hello,

Just wanted to post an update. The day after I posted the above post my acid reflux symptoms dissapered! I am currently 12 week and 3 days post my lap nissen(full wrap) and I am completely acid reflux free. I have been drinking coffee daily and even had a glass of wine, fried spicy hooter wings, and chocolate yesterday with no issues! I guess it took my body a little longer than the 6 weeks they say it does to heal. Wanted to post this in case anyone out there is going through what I went through the first few weeks and needs a little hope.

Had you have any pp medicine while that recovery. Im really struggling with the acid pain

Yes, I took some old medicine my doctor prescribed me. However, I have read it's very common for your doctor to prescribe you ppi's post op for the pain. Just talk to your doc and I'm sure they will give you something. If not mylanta , Prilosec , and tums should help! This will all pass! It goes away eventually and will get better 😉. Praying for a quick recovery for you 🙏
