Hi ya’ll, I’ve been suffering from regurgitation of acid up my throat for roughly a year now. It only happens during night, when I want to sleep. Occasionally, if I eat various trigger foods a couple of hours before bed (4 hours or more), I can feel lumps afterwards in my throat and belch sometimes. I don’t have heartburn and I believe no indegestion either. I’ve tried two ppi’s (Nexium and Gasec) both work most of the time, mostly Nexium. However a sip of Gavescon does the trick if the ppi’s don’t work, but I oddly wake up with a dry throat. I’m 5’12 and weight 85kg and am aged 17. My father has been suffering from GERD for up to 20 years but is treated with Nexium, therefore I believe I inherited this genetically. I honestly don’t know what I have, people say I have GERD but looking at my symptoms I’m not sure they match, I believe I could have Silent Relfux instead but then again I’m not sure. Anyways in about 2 weeks I’ll be going to a doctor for a checkup and later an endoscope to seek what’s the problem. Currently I’m on 20mg Gasec pills which work sometimes, and this is paired with Gavescon pills which I take 3 times a day, the medications were prescribed by a GP.
