Hi, I'm wondering if anyone on here has cured or successfully managed their LPR for a long period of time?
Im 20 years old and have had LPR / Silent Reflux symptoms (hoarseness, sore throat, cough, stinging burps) for a year now, after having typical GERD for a year prior to that. I've been on varying dose PPIs and H2 blockers for the past year, as well as trying probiotics, digestive enzymes, slippery elm, alkaline water etc. My most recent endoscopy showed no esophagitis or esophageal irritation but a very, very mild, almost unnoticeable hiatial hernia. I've made diet changes, however have struggled to follow a completely strict diet (no coffee, no spice) for more than a month at a time. (bad i know) Often I feel when I follow a strict limited diet and take my high dose PPIs my symptoms get worse
But I've been trying to stay positive. I have been following this forum and several others for a while now and it seems like everyone is in the same boat of not really improving. If anyone has successfully cured or currently managing their symptoms I'd love to hear from you and how you achieved this.
Thanks so so much guys,
rebekah
