I was told that i would not be able to vomit after surgery, ny question is what happens when i get sick at my stomach and cant vomit. before surgery I was able to vomit and get rid of what ever was causing my discomfort, now I cant vomit what happens?

I can still vomit, and am having to do so when food gets stuck at the wrap site.

Anti-nausea medications can provide some relief from the heaving symptoms of sickness but don't deal with the cause. That will need to process through your digestive system.

It's been three years and I've never had the need to vomit, and I have a full wrap. I carry anti-nausea medication with me at all times. I was told that if it was a huge issue, then to go to the ER.

like Singersarah said I was vomiting within a few days after my surgery when food would get stuck in my esophagus and I was not sure about my wrap at week six and seven so I did a FLUOROSCOPY xray swallow test on 6/27/2017 which is much easier then the force swallowing test with the tube down your throat... So the tech told me my surgery likes good but I still have some inflammation at the surgery site where thick liquid which I had to drink during the xray is not going all the way down to my stomach some stayed above my esophagus for at less 15 minute after my last swallow so I was still have some belching even in my eleventh week im have some belching but has improve since my surgery back in may just have to be patience good luck in your recovery since everyone is different during there recovery.
