Hi,
I am a 31 year old male, fit, (otherwise) healthy and slim.
Since i was in my teens, I have suffered with some form of reflux. The key symptom for me is acid in the mouth, which is now causing dental problems and constant salivation. The other symptom I will get is extremely dry mouth and bloating for a few days, which would usually be followed by the acidic symptoms above which also can cause sore throat etc. There is no feeling of anything in my throat, no wheezing, shortage of breath etc, which some people suffer with. This tends to get worse with diet and anything rich, fatty or salty does me no favours.
I have tried all kinds of drugs and am currently on Dexilant, which is not working. I have previously used most of the others. I have had endoscopy and there were no structural issues, just redness where the acid has inflamed the tissue. Not gluten or dairy intolerant.
Does anyone else have the issue with acid in mouth or does anyone know what this is? I do not get burning chest as such like typical reflux.
If anyone has any ideas as to what i can try based on the above, I'd love to hear.
Thanks.
