I've been taking my Pepcid 40mg every night at bedtime for my acid reflux / gerd. I've been on this medication (at this time and dosage) for approximately 3 years. (taking with Pantropazole, AM)
Because my GI has been tapering down my Pantoprazole, I've been researching ways I can manage my acid reflux and gerd in other ways.
This led me to reading a couple of websites that state that if you take Pepcid regularly (and/or long term) it becomes ineffective.
I've not had any trouble myself (that I know of, but of course also and the Pantoprazole in the AM, so that may be helping things) with the Pepcid, but I would like to know, can you take Pepcid on a regular basis and/or long term without it losing it's benefits?
Thanks.
