I can't afford to lose weight either. I lost two or three pounds in the first week and then I figured out ice cream and pudding had LOTS of calories. At three weeks my weight was the same as before surgery. The first couple weeks I had Boost, ice cream, pudding, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, canned peaches and pears and anything else I could think of with enough calories to maintain my weigh and I ate small meals every couple hours. If you're really concerned, keep a food diary now and after surgery to figure out your needed caloric intake.
I had a hard time determining if I was hungry or full the first couple weeks. That's why I had something small to eat every few hours.
