Hi.
Drinking the right amount of water is important for general function of the body, needless to say.
But regarding GERD, you have to get enough water but not all at once:
1) The stomach produces more acid when the pH level inside the stomach gets lightly higher (less acidic), which could happen if you drink too much water in just one time
2) The stomach also produces more acid when it gets expanded, and that could happen if you drink too much water at once
3) But if you drink limited amounts of water often, it "washes" the esophagus and you get a little help that way
