Mary, gastritis is inflammation in the lining of your stomach due to stomach acids. Some people are prone to this for whatever reason. It will cause the symptoms you are experiencing. By chance did your dr test you for h-pyloria? If not, call his office & request that you also be checked for this.
I also suggest you talk to your pharmacist about taking an antacid too. He can tell you what one & when to take it since you are on a PPI. You need a fairly bland diet, eat several small meals a day instead of 3 normal ones. Put nothing in your gut that can be irritating.
Do as Sharon suggested, ask for some Zofran for nausea. Since it's a weekend, ask your pharmacist about taking Emetrol, its available OTC & for nausea.
