My doctor thinks so, but he was quick to evaluate me. I am worried it's stomach cancer, though he said off the cuff he doesn't think cancer.
But here goes -
Started with a sore throat for a few weeks. Preceding that I'd choke on water if I chugged too fast. Occasionally food. Then a couple nights of heartburn. I went to see my PC and he put me on a PPI. I took for a few days, made things get better, but then it seems like it returned, but worse. I stopped the PPI after that and went instead to Zantac and tums.
As of last week, sore throat is gone. Swallowing issue gone. Heartburn pain mostly gone, but I still feel bloated towards the end of the afternoon. And I get a dull pain behind my sternum. (I attributed this before to the way I sit over my desk for work all day - but I think that's still reflux pain). And burps. Burps after I eat or drink.
Overall, an improvement from a couple weeks ago, but still a nagging, annoying feeling. I don't eat as much because I'm afraid to get more heartburn. I've lost 8 lbs in the 6 weeks this started, due to change in diet (no meats except fish and once in a while chicken), and just eating oatmeal, smoothies, light stuff like that.
I had to reschedule an upper endoscopy. But I'm worried about that too, whether or not I need that or if I should just keep taking the Zantac and hopefully improve some more over the next couple weeks. Should I wait and see if I keep improving or just do the EDG? Of course, I'm worried it's cancer. I have anxiety issues which is mainly why I'be been a part of this community in the past. Any thoughts are appreciated.
