Hello,
I was diagnosed in January as having GERD. My symptoms have gotten significantly worse this last month. The reason I am reaching out here is because for the last 4 days, I definitely feel like there is some food stuck in my esophagus.
I'm finding it really hard to eat because I'm terrified that something might be there. I've been battling on and off with myself as to whether I should go to the ER or not.
I know that feeling like there is food stuck in your esophagus is a symptom of GERD. Fellow sufferers, how do you know when you genuinely have something stuck or if it is just the sensation? I can still eat and drink--but only a little and soft foods only (thanks sulfacrate). But it causes discomfort. Typically that choking/lump feeling goes away a couple of hours after a meal... But it's been awhile.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just want to go back to eating normally. This has given me a lot of anxiety.
