Hey everyone, Cia here. Had my hiatal fix in July. On September 12th I started the Keto Diet. Needed to lose some of the weight gained over recovery. Did suffer with nausea after the surgery, then it subsided with taking the Zofran, but have only needed to use the meds a few times.
Now I seem to get the nausea more frequently in the early mornings. Sometimes I also have a sore throat, which leads me to believe that I may be having backwash again. I avoid eating and drinking before I go to bed, hoping that will ease the problem. One night I dreamt that I had regurgitation, but woke up with no symptoms. (I have vivid dreams).
This morning I woke up to go to the bathroom, about 4:30am, which is normal for me, and had nausea. Was able to go back to sleep for a while, then woke up again with the nausea. That's been happening a lot over the last two weeks.
It's now been four weeks of the diet. Through out that time I've had the Keto Flu, and all the things that change during the switch over, and no carbs. I've lost about 12lbs and that's a good thing, but I'm not sure if its the diet that is making me nauseous or my stomach.
I was able to stop the Nexium after the surgery, but I may go see my surgeon and give him the quiz, since the nausea started after the surgery, and before the diet. To test it I may go off the "Radical" Keto, and see if the nausea subsides. Also, once I get up and start my day the nausea does go away, it mainly happens on waking in the morning.
Any comments? Thanks have a great day.
